How Eye Control detects safety violations on construction sites

Artificial intelligenceAugust 2026

IK Labs' visual recognition analyzes inspectors' photo records and verifies hard hats, vests and workforce presence with no extra manual work.

From photo archive to data

Every construction project generates thousands of photos. An inspector documents progress, uploads the images, and there they stay: in a folder nobody opens again unless there's a problem. Eye Control starts from a simple idea: those photos already hold the answers to questions that are currently answered manually.

What it recognizes

  • Personal protective equipment: hard hats, high-visibility vests and other gear required by occupational health standards.
  • Workforce presence: identifies when workers are on site, including from IP camera feeds.
  • Record quality: automatically detects blurry, poorly framed or otherwise unhelpful photos.

Safety compliance is no longer checked by sampling; it's verified across one hundred percent of the record.

Why it matters

Traditional occupational safety supervision relies on sampling: someone visits the site, observes and takes notes. Between visits, there's a gap. With visual recognition, every uploaded photo becomes a checkpoint, and recurring violations emerge as patterns rather than anecdotes.

How it integrates

Eye Control works on the records inspectors already upload to COBRA, with no additional field process required. Results appear on the dashboard as another analytics layer: which sites concentrate violations, during which periods and with which contractors.

An important caveat

AI doesn't replace the inspector's judgment. It focuses their attention: instead of reviewing a thousand images, they review the forty the system flagged as critical.
